about Emy
Emy Coligado started her career in musical theatre. She was on Broadway in Miss Saigon for over a year. During that time she discovered her love for comedy while doing sketch at Caroline's Comedy Club and The Duplex. She decided to move to LA to pursue tv/film and hit the road running with two recurring roles. She recurred on the critically acclaimed FOX show, Malcolm in the Middle, for 6 years, playing fan-favorite, Piama, wife of the oldest son, Francis. At the same time she was also recurring on Crossing Jordan for 6 seasons. Emy has had a number of series regular roles on ABC and NBC pilots. Some of her other TV credits include The Good Fight, Claws, Fresh Off The Boat and Shameless. She’s had the pleasure of working with the Farrelly Brothers on the feature film, The Three Stooges and with other inspiring directors like Wim Wenders & Howard Deutch. You can currently catch her on Netflix’s Archive 81 & a Filipino-American musical film called The Girl Who Left Home (Amazon Prime).
